Content Strategist & Creative
I work where communication, design, and purpose meet, shaping stories that move people, not just metrics.
Climate film NGO · Zürich · 4 years freelance
films-for-future.org ↗Four years as freelance content strategist and creative lead at Films for Future, a climate film NGO building community through cinema, dialogue, and action.
The old site no longer reflected the organisation's energy or programme depth. Navigation was unclear, updates were painful, and the visual language felt dated for a youth-led climate movement.
I rebuilt the information architecture from scratch, designed a modular page system, and created a visual language that balances urgency with warmth: editorial typography, clear programme paths, and space for film stills and partner voices.
Because a climate NGO's website is its front door: it needed to welcome visitors, explain the mission fast, and make 122 events feel discoverable, not overwhelming.

Hokkaido, Japan · dontknowlodge.com
Wakaranai Lodge is my own project in Hokkaido. I built the whole brand from scratch: name, narrative, website, print, and programmes like Analog Weeks below.

A recurring programme about slowing down: no screens, long walks, shared meals, and time to not know the answer. The concept shaped everything, from the website copy to posters, Instagram carousels, and hand-drawn illustrations that feel like they were made at the kitchen table.

I'm Denise Welik, a freelance content strategist and creative. My background spans NGO communications, brand building, project management, and hands-on creative production across digital and print. I work independently, think in systems, and move comfortably between a 32-page brochure and a website rebuild. Fluent in German and English, conversational in Spanish.
